November 18th Was the Day I Was Born

Whaddup, Whaddup, Whaddup Ma Aggies?!
Its Ya Boy, Ya Kinfolk, Ya Cousin: TJ Pratt
And I'm coming at chu with another post!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!
I am so stoked! I look at my birthday as a day where I get receive love. Ultimately thats all I really want on my birthday is for people to be genuine and to give me the same love that I give them the other 364 days. Honestly, its been tough trying to keep up in classes, maintaining a job, a social life, and making sure I see the back of my eyelids long enough.

Random Fact: Did you know that the average human blinks 23040 times a day?

On the day that you were born you begin to wonder and reflect on your own life. Am I doing well in school? Are my folks proud of me? am I chasing my dreams? I honestly feel that in life as well as in college, you never truly find out, but it's the journey of trying to find out that makes life worth living for.

Honestly how many people you know come from Harlem, New York to Utah State not on an Athletic scholarship. I am not, an engineer, nor am I a huntsman scholar, and agriculture or horticulture frustrates me. So why am I here? I am not sure because I am still learning bits and pieces of it but if there is one thing that I am certain of it's that this experience at Utah State will be what chaps me for the rest of my life and I am ready for it. To all my High School Seniors who don't know what to expect in the next few weeks, months, or years I challenge you to ask yourself like Robert Frost did in his poem:

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference." - Robert Frost

Think about it. Many of you may have a chance here to make a great step into the rest of your lives by choosing to go to college and also in choosing Utah State because you can't get a better education for the same price. Utah State Hey Aggies all the Way!!! Until Next time!

4th QUARTER LIVING & ELECTION DAY

Whaddup, Whaddup, Whaddup My Aggies!
It's Ya Nephew, Ya Aggie-Man, Ya Shorty TJ Pratt
And I'm coming at chu with another post!!!

First off can I just say how edited I am that it is my Birthday month?!!! S/O to all my Scorpios!!! On a serious note today is Election day! I remember the first and last time I went to vote and it was last year. It felt so cool having a choice to vote for the leaders of our great country. So I say that to encourage all of you to keep that in mind this Election day. Even though it's not a Presidential year, take the time to research your candidates and see which ones you want to vote for. The reason is because not all changes happen on a Nationwide level but also on a local level and those changes usually have more of an impact on you in a more direct way then a government shutdown...
Me on Old Main Hill after Class just "Lebroning" the leaves

Also, S/O to all my High School Seniors taking the SAT or ACT in the next week! Good luck and don't forget the deadlines for Utah State because you don't want to miss out on a scholarship, tour, or a chance to be an Aggie!!! So as Fall takes her exit and Winter slowly starts to take on her shape. I encourage Y'all to let the winter season motivate you to achieve higher. Don't give up just keep on pushing foreword because if you think about it the Year 2013 is almost over and done with so lets shift into "4th Quarter Living" Yeah I am talking about 4th Quarter like in Basketball Games. No matter what may be going on in your life right now, you may have come into the 4th Quarter this month behind or even ahead in life, but now is the time to definite seize control of the momentum and win the game and the year! So keep your head up and realize that Life still goes on so do your best everyday!

Be Encouraged,
And Go Aggies!!

Halloween Poetry!!!

Halloween

Halloween is a time full of ghosts and ghouls,
So be careful, and stay awake in school.
You never know who may show up to class
So pay attention and make sure to pass.

Because Zombies & Warlocks aren't too smart
and if they spot you, you don't want to get caught.
So be on the look out always be ready,
Cuz this year I hear they are coming for the Aggies!

Family Pop's Concert & Some Life Advice!

What's Up Aggies?! How's it going? It's Ya Boi, Ya Cousin, Ya Kinfolk! T.J. Pratt!
Comin' at chu with another post!

CONGRATULATIONS to all my Aggie Freshman as well as my High school Seniors you are just about halfway through your 1st semester at school! As the young kids say "Turn Up!" What I have been up to lately has been a lot of fun. Yesterday, I performed in the Family Pop's Concert!!! We had flying wookies, Dracula batteling the Cat in the Hat, and I even thought I saw Superman! It was a great concert. I performed with the American Festival Chorus (Which is a choir class you can take ;) and we sang a couple of Disney Medley's, from Mickey Mouse Club all the way to Aladdin. I also got to perform the solo with the choir & orchestra from Lion King's Circle of Life!!! It was an AMAZING feeling. It reminded me of why I love singing so much, and having the opportunity to touch people's lives in a positive way. The crowd went nuts! Standing Ovation then turned into a home Basketball game because the Aggie Bagpipe band came in with Big Blue and lead the entire audience in the Scotsman! It was an unbelievable concert. Seeing all the Little ones come in reminded me of trick-o-treating back home! Boy, I sure do miss it!

Lastly, I just want to encourage all my High school Seniors to continue to do well in school. it will all pay off soon and when it does USU will be ready for you!!! Enjoy your life now, and continue to take it one day at a time. My Grandmother would always tell me , "Son, take time to smell the roses because they might not be there tomorrow..."

Until my next post Peace, Love &
Go Aggies!

Me after the concert with the good guys....PS Darth Vader was close I could feel the Dark Side of the FORCE!

Rivalry Game!/ Advice to my Readers!

What up What up What up?! Its' Me Ya Aggie, Ya Cousin, Ya Kinfolk: T.J. Pratt
And I'm coming back at you with another post!!!

MAN! I wish you could've been up here @ Utah State. The atmosphere was electric for the annual Battle of the Old Wagon Wheel! Yes RIVALRY Game USU vs BYU! Students camped out like my buddy Alexander Aburto! (S/O to My Aggie Blue Crew! Please go check out his blog if you haven't already!) Anyways, the game ended up being sold out!!! No seats available anywhere!! I was so excited just to see Romney Stadium full with fans whether in support of BYU or The Hometown Aggies! Unfortunately, we did not win this year, but no worries if there is anything I've learned with our Rivalry games its a give-and-take relationship. In other words COUGARS just wait 'till next year we are coming for our Old Wagon Wheel!

BYU vs. USU 2013
In lighter news, we are getting closer to midterms which means the semester is almost halfway over!!! I can't believe it! So I am determined, and feeling motivated to get things done, study, study, and study! In College vs. High school a lot of what you do with your time is based on you! Nobody in college, demands an account of what you did with your time the last few Fridays. So I encourage all of my readers to "stay on your grind". What do I mean? I mean keep putting in work! You have to spend more time working on achieving those good grades, rather than hoping for those good grades. I promise it will all be worth it when it's Christmas break and you're sitting under a Christmas tree and your mother asks to see your grades, unlike that Christmas I had back in '09 but thats enough advice for now. Until next time!

Be Encouraged!
Get Motivated!
Go Aggies!!!

APE!!!

Hey Ya'll its me, Ya Aggie, Ya Nephew, Ya Friend:  T.J.

I hope by this time a lot of you have settled into your school routines, and probably taken an exam or two, and even figured out a rhythm to this whole College Thing. If not keep working at it but meanwhile here's another post from yours truly about what is going on in my life this week. A lot of student often ask me what is there to do up on campus, so this week I want to talk about the Aggie Passport Experience!!!!!

I love this experience because it gives YOU the student a chance to experience the various events, resources, and fun you can have at USU. You get a legit passport and you get to attend different events on campus. One of the events that I will be attending is the 1st theater event of the semester "Learned Ladies" it will be showing all week so make sure you get your ticket, date, & passport because it's sure to be a fun time!

Before I go, if you collect ten passport stamps you get $30 in your Aggie express account and that could go toward textbooks, Aggie gear, or (if you're like me) Iced chai Lattes @ CafĂ© ibis on campus!!! I am so excited. So until my next post

WELCOME TO MY AGGIE WORLD!!!

AYO AYO AYO! I'm Baack!
It's Ya Blue Crew, Ya Aggie, Ya Scotsman comin' right at chu!

First off let me start off by saying I hope all is well with all of my readers. After a LONG LONG summer off I can officially say I am ready. This past week was the 1st week of the semester. WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL AGGIES!!!
I want to shout-out all the new freshmen and Good Luck to you on this, your first year at USU (the best kept secret in America! Hands down!) I pretty much spent most of this past week trying to get reacquainted with campus and after a summer break that could take some doing!

This year I am so excited because there is alot of fun stuff planned for this upcoming year, too much to write about! For example, AGGIE sports, USU Musicals, Campus life, Homecoming 2013, etc. just to name a few. I will try to keep all of you updated on the happenings, sights and sound that is my home, my place, my school, your "FUTURE" School: USU!!!

Even though I'm going into my third week here at USU it stills feels like I'm in the middle of the semester. Last week was Rush Week for Fraternities and Sororities. It was a great turn out, I find it awesome that students are finding the benefits of joining a Greek Organization. Also, the week before that was the W.O.W aka Week of Welcome! They had Josh Thompson perform, High Stakes Bingo, and the BIGGEST BLOOD BATTLE in the STATE where students donated blood! Its always a great way to get out of the rut of summer by going to the events during that week. Lastly, this is the week that I've been waiting for aka HOMECOMING!!! There will be the annual street paintings tonight followed by a chalk dance, MR. USU later on in the week, Homecoming parade, tailgate, & the football game this weekend!!! I am SoOoO excited for this week that I can't contain myself, but the more serious side is that this is usually the week for most students when we have to hand in our first BIG paper or take our first BIG exam! So don't be surprise if you see me ducking in and out of events early because I have to study! It's like I always say Work Hard, Play Hard!

Anyways I'm off, back to my studies I'm trying to kick this semester in the BUM!!! Go AGGIES!
Be Encouraged, Bleed Blue
